What else you need to know: New soft-sculpt applicator precisely designs fuller lips for sensual lip contours.
I'm a bit of a lip gloss snob. I own more glosses than I care to mention, and have tried pretty much every brand under the sun. So to say that a lip gloss is one of my favorites is a pretty big deal.
Lancome Spot Pink La Laque Fever IS one of my favorite lip glosses. Of. All.Time. Now, to be even considered as a favorite, a lip gloss must possess these qualities:
- Shine-Hello? If it's called a gloss, then it better be shiny. If it has any sort of shimmer or even a slight dose of glitter, even better.
- Mileage-I need a gloss that's going to last. I don't want to pull it out every 5 minutes and reapply.
- Range of Colors-If a gloss is really good, then I'll probably want to purchase it in several colors. I want variety in said colors.
Spot Pink delivers on all of these qualities and then some. As you can see in the pictures below, this gloss in SHINY. It does have some glitter in it, so it definitely stands out when you wear it. Now I purchased this gloss to wear to my first Lady Gaga concert. I wanted something bright, something fun, and something glam. The shine factor in Spot Pink definitely amped up the glam for me. It also lasts a loooong time. It will last a good 6 hours for me without reapplying. If I'm eating or drinking anything (me, drink? I would never do such a thing!), then you may need to reapply more often. (One thing that's really interesting to note-on Lancome's website, it says that this gloss will go 8 hours without reapplying; on Sephora's, it says 6 hours. I personally can't see how one could go 8 hours without applying this gloss.)
Now the colors. Mon Dieu! Spot Pink is a bright pink, as you'll see in the swatch below. It almost appears neon pink on my arm but on my somewhat pigmented lips, it's not nearly as bright. It also has a good amount of microglitter in it. I do own this in one other color, Electric Pink (which is brighter, almost a fuschia with a ton more glitter). There's a very good range of colors available in this line, as is with most Lancome lip products.
Something I do want to mention is the stickiness or lack there of. When you first apply this gloss, it can be a bit tacky. However, once it sets a little bit, that goes away and it actually is quite smooth. That's especially important for me since I have long hair and I can't stand to get my hair stuck in my gloss.
This gloss is expensive but well worth it. With Valentine's Day coming up, you definitely want your lips to look kissable, and a good kiss is worth the price of this gloss, if you ask me.
Now, on to the pictures.
The packaging is very nice. The band around the top is supposed to signify the color group that the gloss is from, in this case, pink.
Here's a shot of the applicator. It's very flexible and soft. (That's my wall of perfumes in the background!)
Here's a swatch on my arm. As you can see, it's a bright pink, but it doesn't go on as bright.

As you can see, it's noticeable but not obnoxious. Now, that being said, I'd let my lips be the star when wearing this, and do a simpler eye. But that's just me.
All in all, I'd give this gloss my highest rating: 4 out of 4 cakes
Until next time!
